Through your volunteering, we can offer many types of support to our patients and their families. Thank you for partnering with us to serve our community members well. Volunteer Opportunities

  • Group of ten women standing outdoors under a tree, wearing matching blue t-shirts with 'Love for Libby' printed on them, posing for a photo with fallen leaves on the ground.

    Direct Patient Care Volunteer

Provide support to patients and caregivers in the home, help with daily activities, offer companionship, and a time of respite for the caregiver.

  • A white desk with a potted plant, a closed laptop, a spiral notepad, and a black pen.

    Office Volunteer

Our office volunteers assist with office tasks like answering phones, filing, or even cleaning at our office building.

  • A group of people, including children and adults, standing in front of a red truck, holding a sign that reads 'Loving Hearts Hospice' and lists service areas in Ohio. They are outside in a parking lot on a cloudy day.

    Youth Volunteer

Young volunteers can contribute in many ways and are paired with trained adult volunteers for any direct patient interaction.

  • An elderly woman sitting in an armchair, smiling and holding a small black and white puppy in her arms, with a leopard-print blanket over her lap. There is a tall yellow patterned lamp behind her and a cluttered side table with books and papers nearby.

    Special Services Volunteer

Offer your licensed or certified skills such as massage therapy, music therapy, or pet therapy. Special Services Volunteers hold a specialized license or certification and follow established rules set out by the state in which they are employed.

  • Two hands exchanging a black paper heart against a plain white background.

    Bereavement Volunteer

Continue supporting families after a patient has passed through home visits or phone calls. Loving Hearts Bereavement Volunteers are generally Direct Patient Care Volunteers who want to continue a relationship with a family after their patient has passed away.

  • Two men, one sitting on a bed with an American flag blanket, and another standing next to him smiling. The man on the bed has a beard and short hair, and the standing man has glasses and gray hair.

    Veteran to Veteran Volunteer

Veterans can provide unique support and camaraderie to other veterans at the end of life. Our Veteran Volunteers will engage, honor, and recognize the Veterans we serve in whatever way is best for the client.
