Hospice Care Services
Hospice care is a specialized philosophy of care for those suffering from terminal illnesses to bring greater comfort and quality of life. Hospice care provides many benefits for everyone involved, not just the patient. When you start working with Loving Hearts we will determine the initial needs of the patient and family. We will work through an entire care plan with the family to provide support to all who are involved. The plan of care will address the patient’s physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual needs. Most importantly, Loving Hearts Hospice affirms the life of the patient and those who love and care for them.
If you have a loved one with a lifelong medical condition or debilitating illness, hospice services can greatly improve their end-of-life experience. By starting the conversation early, you can limit the amount of hospital stays and emergency room visits. In most cases, the cost of hospice care at home is fully covered by Medicare, Medicaid or private insurance. The Medicare Hospice Benefit requires that the physician estimate a life expectancy of six months or less, assuming the disease runs its normal course. Through generous donations of individuals, organizations, and businesses, we are able to serve everyone at no cost. Loving Hearts has never turned a patient away due to inability to pay for hospice services. To refer someone to hospice, call 812-932-0641.
How to Get Started
Anyone can refer someone to hospice care or request information. With permission from the patient and/or family, Loving Hearts Hospice will handle gathering the information needed to obtain an order for hospice. All hospice services are covered 100% by Medicare, Medicaid, and by most private insurances. Covered costs include care, medications, and needed medical equipment.
